We are Neil Simnett and Ivan Callanan
Neil was until 2009 a lecturer in Website Design and IT degree courses in Burton on Trent. He has since devoted his time to web design and has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience using various web based technologies. Neil has worked with small businesses and corporate organisations including managing accommodation websites in Devon. Due to the fast evolving web Neil understands the importance of not remaining stagnant and ensures we keep up to date with new technologies. Neil shares the same goal as Ivan, to create eye catching, usable, clean websites that are easily found by search engines.
Ivan moved from a position as a business manager in Middle East & Africa in 2001 through a desire to take it a little easier with a small farm in Cornwall. While converting a barn into two holiday cottages, Ivan worked on a new recruitment search engine based website called 1Job.co.uk with a friend from his college days. Here he learnt much about search engine optimisation and website usability in a very competitive market. Once the two cottages were completed, a simple website was created with online booking and a rather primitive content management system. The result was a great success and with the help of Google and Cornish Farm Holidays (CFH), the business became viable within a few hectic months.
After a year, Ivan joined the CFH committee and after another year took over responsibility for the CFH website. The experience gave him a valuable insight into the needs of the other members and in particular how many had spent far too much money on ineffective websites. Through a mutual acquaintance Ivan met Neil, who also had concerns about the poor websites being created.
Within a year and after much discussion, No Fuss Web Design was born and the results so far have been extremely encouraging. Ivan’s new website designed by No Fuss has brought in record business in 2011 when most accommodation providers in Cornwall have been having a poor year due to the recession. The only exceptions we have heard of to this have been those with websites designed by No Fuss Web Design. We are confident that the trend will continue. We hope of course to build as many websites as possible, however if we only manage to enlighten those that are frankly being ripped off, then we will have achieved something worthwhile in these difficult times.
Neil is the clever technical whizz kid, Ivan is the slightly technical front man looking after the needs and concerns of the No Fuss customers
